Design Gallery on the Website

It's been almost a year and a half since I left my full time/out of the house, job as a designer. The place I'd left, I'd been working at for almost 9 years. It was filled with amazing, talented designers, web developers, production gurus and office managers and yet there was a pull for me to take a chance on myself.

I've never shone away from trying something new. I've worked in a variety of design jobs since graduating from college. One of my biggest changes was leaving a high paying in-house design job with pension and benefits to try my hand at an agency that cut my pay drastically. For me, the change was a no brainer. I needed to try my hand at a new type of job, to gain experience with new clients and new creative direction. In the end it paid off. It eventually brought me to that wonderful office I did end up in for those 9 years before starting Studio 312.

I've been on my own for nearly a year and a half, and still have only featured my photography on my site! (?!?!) The good news was that when I took the leap on my own, I became so busy so fast that I had no time to work on my own projects. The bad news was that I had no where for new clients to go and see my graphic design work. I was like a shoemaker without shoes ... a solo graphic designer with no website. I decided 2018 was finally the year where I prioritized my own work for a bit. A lot of late nights writing content and obsessively making portfolio images to highlight some of my work that I'm most proud of.

This summer I have enjoyed the benefits of working from home. I've set up shop on my porch some days with my coffee and my MacBook and worked while my kiddos play in the yard. Working from home is definitely a challenge, but right now, it's the best decision we've made for our family.

Please check out the new site, let me know what you think and if you're here because you're interested in either design, branding your new or existing business or photography to help tell your story, please make sure to visit my contact page. I'd love to hear from you!
